Overview

Nurse retention and attrition is a huge issue, and part of the reason is that nurses new to an organization, role, or to the profession are often not as prepared as necessary to deal with the various issues and stress that comes with this new role. Successful mentoring and preceptor strategies make a huge difference in educating nurses on the way things are done, supporting them through the stress and learning process, etc. Doing so has a big impact on nurse retention and on empowering nurses to be more accountable and effective.
