In this course, nurses will learn more about various medications that alter blood coagulation and blood vessel injuries. This course provides nurses with the information they need to better treat patients receiving drugs that alter coagulation. Nurses will learn about the clotting mechanism, which medications may alter this mechanism and how to treat patients receiving these medications.

Karch is an associate professor of clinical nursing at the University of Rochester School of Nursing in Rochester, NY, with more than 30 years of experience teaching pharmacology, pathophysiology and clinical application to undergraduate and graduate nursing students. She has authored numerous drug guides and nursing pharmacology textbooks, and writes a regular American Journal of Nursing (AJN) column on patient safety.
