This brain-based learning course is designed to engage you in the world of Big Data – join online interactions with your knowledge coach and peers to debate strategic concepts while sharpening your critical thinking skills. Experience the Big Data educational game to gain insights about opportunities to apply big data to nursing decisions. Take the Big Data self-assessment to pinpoint your strengths and then share your capabilities during a virtual session with your peers and knowledge coach.

The course includes contemporary information surrounding the big data explosion, predictive analytics, and how big data can be harnessed for healthcare. You will gain analytics skills through the application of concepts via a hands-on session using the IBM ® Watson Analytics platform - analyze data and make real world connections to your nursing practice. Course elements have been linked to competencies identified in ANA’s Nursing Informatics: Scope and Standards of Practice.
