This course provides the certification exam contact hours for nurses who have purchased and studied the Cardiac-Vascular Nursing Review and Resource Manual, 4th Ed. Contact hours are available only for the most current edition in print.

 Key Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Pass the post-test with at least 75 percent of the answers correct.
  2. Select responses to test questions based on key principles, standards of practice and theoretical basis of nursing practice.
  3. Choose accepted therapeutic interventions in answering questions related to quality nursing practice.
  4. Utilize direct and indirect professional role responsibilities and applications regarding nursing practice in answering test questions.

Lynn W. Smith, MSN, RN, CNE-BC

Ms. Smith is an Assistant Professor, Department of Nursing, College of Health Professions at Northern Kentucky University. She has 39 years of cardiac nursing experience including staff nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Program Director, and Nursing Supervisor in progressive telemetry step-down units, Coronary Care, Intensive Care, Open Heart Surgery Recovery, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pharmaceutical research, Heart Failure Clinic,and Home Care for Heart Failure patients. Ms. Smith teaches and supervises nursing student nurses on telemetry units. She has developed in-house and public inservices and continuing education programs for nursing care of cardiac patients.
