Nursing Knowledge Center Overview
The Nursing Knowledge Center (NKC), the products and services division of the American Nurses Association (ANA), is uniquely positioned to support nurses throughout their careers, fuel nursing excellence and help health care organizations achieve success. NKC embodies the ANA mission to advance the nursing profession and improve health for all with products and services created for nurses, by nurses.
NKC educational offerings and support services are developed and presented by experts with unmatched experience in nursing, health care and continuing education. The workshops, online webinars and series, consultation services and publications delivered by NKC advance nursing knowledge, tackle workplace challenges and promote life-long learning.
For individual nurses, NKC provides continuing education throughout all phases of their nursing careers. The products and services offered cover a wide range of topics related to specialty and APRN certification, clinical and practice knowledge, leadership, work-life balance, emerging trends in nursing and more. With educational material presented in a variety of learning formats, nurses will find support suited to their continuing education needs.
ANA’s Nursing Knowledge Center recognizes the vital role nursing plays within Health care systems. As such, NKC delivers products and support that extend beyond the individual nurse to focus on Health care leadership, innovation and organizational development. A team of expert consultants and specialized courses and publications provide guidance to help organizations meet criteria for ANCC Accreditation, Magnet® and Pathway to Excellence® organizational credentials.
The multitude of products and services offered help nursing leaders and Health care administrators meet and understand nursing staffing issues and other workforce challenges. With NKC support, Health care organizations can create a work environment that inspires nurses to not only return to work every day, but to strive for excellence in their professional nursing practices.
ANA is the only full-service professional organization representing the interests of the nation’s 3.4 million registered nurses through its constituent and state nurses associations and its organizational affiliates. ANA advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting the rights of nurses in the workplace, projecting a positive and realistic view of nursing, and lobbying Congress and regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public.
